25 Years of Blood, Sweat, and Music …

1982 … a young director arrives at McLean High School to teach, to learn, to make music …

2007 … a slightly older director celebrates a quarter century with the McLean Symphonic Band’s wildly successful performance at the Midwest Clinic.

Imagine … 25 years of rehearsals, band camps (well, we can't call them that anymore, so they are now "experiences"), District festivals, concerts, parades, bad notes, amazing music, but most of all, students, more than 650 of them.

Come celebrate the director, the good times, the music.

Alumni Band Members WANTED: Please consider being part of the Alumni Band! No chair tests, no rankings, no worries. Whether you are still an active musician, a sometimes musician, or one who will have to look for your trumpet in the attic, please sign up. The Alumni Band is about being on stage with some of the people you enjoyed playing with (or making fun of) during those golden high school years. Don’t you wonder what happened to that cute trombone player? What better way to find out than to bring your flute out of retirement and see if it still works! Besides, most people will play worse than you do (just like in high school). Alumni Band practices are Friday, May 25 from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM and Saturday, May 26 from 9:30 AM to 11 AM.

The Tower Club Dinner will include musical entertainment, a dinner buffet, coffee, and presentations. A cash beverage service will be provided. The Tower Club Dinner will be available, by reservation only, at $75 per person. Spouses and significant others are welcome!

Please join your fellow band alumni and parents in celebrating 25 Years of Great Performances!
