Under the direction of Mr. Scott Weinhold, McLean’s Jazz Ensemble performs

at school assemblies, local venues upon request, Jazz Night with the premier Jazz ensemble of the Air Force, the Airmen of Note, and have also performed at James Madison University. The Jazz Ensemble is cheered by students and parents alike and is regularly one of the most popular performances in the McLean Band Pyramid.

Welcome to a new school year!  This year we are excited to announce that we will continue to have two jazz ensembles in the McLean Band program.  Auditions for Jazz Ensemble will be held later this month at a date and time to be announced.  ALL students (including Longfellow students) are welcome to audition.  Jazz Ensemble participation will be by audition only.  Once the Jazz Ensemble students are selected the Lab Band will be selected.  The Lab Band will be made up of students who auditioned for Jazz Ensemble and weren't selected and then filled with Longfellow students based on desire to participate, and recommendations by Mr. Zimmerman and Mr. Weise.

Jazz Ensemble rehearsals:

Tuesdays 7-9 PM

Thursdays 3-5 PM

Lab Band rehearsals:

Mondays 4-5:30 PM

Lab Band will begin

on Monday, December 5
