Giant, Safeway, and Magruders Grocery Scrip Giant, Safeway, and Magruders offer scrip (gift cards or certificates) that the Band buys directly at a discount. The Band shares this savings with you, the band parent, in the form of credit. The more credit you earn, the more you save. Here’s how:
When you purchase $100 of Scrip, you receive $100 worth of Giant, Safeway, or Magruders gift cards/certificates for groceries, plus, you earn $4.00 credit . The credit is available for you to reduce the cost of band trips or camp. If you start buying grocery Scrip now, you can be earning credit towards Band Camp, the Fall Marching Trips, or the Spring Band trip. Whether your child is in one of the three McLean Bands or in the Color Guard, you can be lowering your cost for these upcoming events.

In addition to earning credits, you also earn money for the Band’s scholarship/general fund account. And all you had to do was buy groceries with Scrip!
Scrip Sales: During the school year, Scrip will usually be sold on Wednesdays, wherever the Band is rehearsing. Scrip will also be for sale at concerts, band parent meetings, and other band-related events. In between, or if these times are not convenient for you, please call to make arrangements to pick up your scrip.
Safeway eScrip Program Safeway has joined an easy and convenient program called eScrip. Just sign up your Safeway Club Card number and shop as usual. After you enroll, with every purchase using your club card, Safeway will automatically contribute a percentage of every purchase to the band’s scholarship/general fund account.
Additionally, other merchants who will contribute even greater percentages of your purchases to the band include Pep Boys (4%), Orvis (10%) and Eddie Bauer (5%). Visit the list of merchants at www.escrip.com. You must register the credit and ATM/debit cards you will use to make purchases from these merchants in order for a contribution to be made to the Band.
You can participate in the Safeway eScrip program even if you signed up your Safeway card number with the PTA.
Please be aware that, unlike the gift card/certificate scrip program described above, Safeway’s and other merchants’ contributions to the band in the escrip program are not credited to you individually.
To enroll in the eScrip program, 1) Call 1-800-801-4973 or 2) visit www.escrip.com - The McLean Band Parents Group number is 2299438. If you participated last year, you need to renew as soon as you can. Remember, family and friends can also enroll in the eScrip program, even if they live in another state. Just ask them to enroll as noted above.
