Pep Band

The McLean Pep Band is a student-led organization that plays in the stands at football games and performs at various events throughout the school year. We are primarily composed of marching band members, but the program is open to all McLean Band students. Our atmosphere is more laid back than that of marching or concert band; our purpose is to support McLean's sports teams, and we play pop/modern music to boost school spirit.

FAQs

Do you support all sports?

Due to different sports' time constraints and noise levels in the gymnasium, we currently only play at football games. If you have any suggestions, contact us!

Do you play at away football games?

YES! Most Pep Band playing time happens at away football games. We meet in the band room beforehand for a quick rehearsal, and school buses provide transportation.

When and where do you meet?

Away football games:  Students are asked to meet in the band room at 5:30 pm for attendance and a short rehearsal. The bus usually leaves at 6:15pm.

Home football games: We play Pep Band music in the stands before the halftime show. Afterwards, students have the third quarter off to change out of their uniforms, talk to parents, and visit the snack bar/restrooms. Those who wish to join us then reconvene and play during the fourth quarter.

If I go to one Pep Band event, do I have to go to all of them?

Nope! Pep Band is optional.

What other events does Pep Band play at?

Events include, but are not limited to:  FanFest (Special Olympics basketball), Pep rallies, and Celebrate McLean.
